What’s Happening?
Public Engagement Period: 3 November – 15 December 2025
The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) is running a six-week engagement activity to:
- Understand public experiences of accessibility and safety on board buses.
- Gather feedback to shape bus fleet specifications and procurement.
- Raise awareness of bus franchising and its phased rollout.
- Meet suppliers as part of the procurement process.

Bus Fleet Survey
3 November – 15 December 2025
We’re asking the public about new bus features:
- What makes them feel safe on board?
- What features improve comfort?
- How people prefer to receive travel updates?
Customer Principles Survey
10 November – 23 November 2025
- We’re testing draft principles to guide service standards under franchising.
