PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991
NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Doncaster Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 because works are being or proposed to be executed on or near the road and the effect will be to prohibit any vehicle from entering, proceeding or waiting in that length of Hurst Lane at Auckley in the City of Doncaster District as described in the Schedule to this notice on the dates and times referred to in the said Schedule.
Reason for closure: To ensure the safety of the public and the workforce whilst works for the provision of specialist carriageway surface dressing, subsequent road markings, removal and installation of road studs is undertaken.
NOTICE is also given that the alternative route for vehicles affected by the Order is via Great Yorkshire Way, A638 Bawtry Road, Warning Tongue Lane, B1396 Doncaster Road, New Road, Doncaster Road, Main Street, Hurst Lane and Vice Versa.
Any vehicle that is in contravention of the waiting restriction imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. Any contravention of the prohibitions or restrictions imposed by this Order may result in a Penalty Charge Notice being issued and the subsequent removal of a vehicle.

The Proposed Order will continue in force up to and including the 31st day of August 2026 or until the works which it is proposed to carry out in or near the said road have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within the stated time the Order may be continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.

Location
Hurst Lane, Auckley from its junction with Hayfield Lane to its junction with A6182 Great Yorkshire Way.
Dates and Times
On or after 07:00hrs 1st April 2026 until 19:00hrs 31st August 2026.
The road will be closed on up to 5 separate occasions, with each occasion lasting no longer than 3 consecutive days. Works MAY occur on a weekend. This process is weather dependant and as such exact dates for each location cannot be given.
